is ilysm free?
yes. pairing, four core expressions, matching back anything your partner sends, unlimited quick replies, every widget size, one snap, and one custom message each week are free. ilysm+ unlocks all twelve expressions, unlimited snaps and custom messages, more expression photos, custom expressions, match lines, and editable replies. one purchase covers both partners. charms are optional one-time purchases.
do we both need an iPhone?
yes, for now. ilysm is an iPhone app with home screen and lock screen widgets.
do i need to create an account?
no. there is no signup, email, phone number, or password. a private iCloud Keychain identity lets your ilysm return when you move to a new iPhone using the same Apple ID.
does it work for long-distance relationships?
yes. expressions travel across any distance, and optional partner time, weather, and approximate distance can make the days easier to read. long distance is an important use case, not a requirement.
is there a chat?
no. ilysm has no inbox, thread, read receipts, or chat history. a recent reply can briefly appear with the latest expression, but conversations stay wherever you already have them.
